El Empiedro es un aceite de oliva virgen extra de categoría superior, tiene denominación de origen certificada Priego de Córdoba, y es obtenido de aceitunas de las variedades Picuda y Hojiblanca, mediante procedimientos mecánicos.  Es un aceite de aceituna verde-madura con matices herbáceos y notas frutales.  La entrada en boca es dulce, con ligero amargor y picor y el retrogusto es almendrado.  El Empiedro ha conseguido muchos galardones y premios tanto nacionales como internacionales, destacando en 2016. PREMIO “MARIO SOLINAS” siendo segundo finalista en la primera edición del Premio a la Calidad del Consejo Oleícola Internacional (Mario Solinas 2015/2016) en la categoría Frutado Verde Medio. En el concurso competían 130 aceites de diferentes países y los miembros del jurado internacional eligieron “El Empiedro” como uno de los seis mejores de su categoría.  Es elaborado por La Sociedad Cooperativa Andaluza Olivarera La Purísima de Priego de Córdoba, en el corazón de la Subbética Cordobesa.  Cuenta con algo más de cuatro hectáreas de olivar tradicional propias que, junto a las producciones de sus más de novecientos socios, suman una cosecha media anual de unas quince mil toneladas de aceitunas de las variedades picuda, hojiblanca y picual, características del olivar de montaña de la comarca. Dichas variedades, seleccionadas y recogidas de forma tradicional, hacen de este zumo de aceituna, uno de los más preciados aceites del mundo. Tradición y experiencia se aúnan para conseguir un producto de gran calidad y exquisito, capaz de competir con los mejores aceites que existen en el mercado.  Nota de Cata: En nariz, Frutado medio-alto de aceituna verde, con notas de hoja, hierbas aromáticas y otras frutas como cítricos, tomate, manzana, plátano y almendra verdes. En boca, de entrada es dulce, con amargo y picante ligeros y un retrogusto almendrado.
